Netflix Casts Spot-On Star for Mr. 2 in One Piece Season 3
The Secret Organization is poised to make a major impact in the next installment of Netflix’s show of One Piece, although the real showdown won’t take place until season 3, and a beloved, popular member has just been cast.
Netflix announced Tuesday that Cole Escola will appear in the One Piece upcoming season’s lineup and will portray Bentham. This character can use their power to change into an perfect replica of any individual they’ve made contact with with their dominant hand. The actor, who is gender non-conforming and goes by they/them, will depict a rendition of that figure re-envisioned as non-binary, rather than as a drag artist, in the live-action show, as in the source material and cartoon version.
This performer is joined by multiple fresh additions who will portray the organization to life, such as leader the main antagonist, portrayed by Joe Manganiello, Sophia Anne Caruso as Miss Goldenweek, and a familiar face, who is also part of the cast as the ruler of the fictional land.
Even though this character is a major member of the group, the persona won’t appear until One Piece the upcoming installment. Considering season 2 set to cover the Little Garden storyline, this signals a significant shift in the placement of the character’s debut, one that could suggest further changes to the story’s structure.
Escola’s blend of sharp comedic timing and profound feeling makes them a perfect fit for the part. In addition to their current animated role in the youth-focused cartoon movie Boys Go to Jupiter, they received high praise and several accolades for writing and starring in the successful stage production Oh Mary!, showcasing the adaptability they’ll add to one of One Piece’s highly regarded characters.
Netflix's live-action One Piece program is set to return for its season two on the tenth of March, 2026.
