Star Refutes Anti-Vaxxer Views After Narrating Contentious Pandemic Film
The "Taken" star has given his narration to a recent film that questions the legitimacy of immunizations and commends former health official the political figure.
The Feature's Contentious Basis
Named "Plague of Corruption," the project is inspired by a popular book published by Judy Mikovits, who gained notoriety during the health crisis for allegations that Covid was caused by a faulty batch of the seasonal immunization.
The book's co-author, Kent Heckenlively, has also written books with far-right figure a known commentator. The producer took to social media praising Neeson's role in the film.
An Unequivocal Rebuttal
A spokesperson for Neeson have provided a statement pushing back against implications that he subscribes to anti-vax views.
"Everyone can recognize that unethical practices can exist within the pharmaceutical industry, but that cannot be confused with rejection of vaccines," the response explains. "Liam is not, and is not, anti-vaccination. His considerable work with the UN children's agency underscores his consistent support for global immunisation initiatives."
It noted that the star did not shape the project's messaging and that inquiries about its content are best addressed to the filmmakers.
Key Claims Featured in the Feature
According to the documentary, the script spoken by Neeson includes several strong statements:
- It claims that pro-vaccine voices have insisted on "blind obedience" to health authorities.
- It declares that "science has become dangerously politicized."
- RFK Jr is shown claiming, "The core flaw with vaccines is that they just aren't safely tested."
- It also criticizes Covid lockdowns, arguing they caused psychological harm that cost thousands of lives.
- Regarding the immunizations, it mentions a view that they were "rushed to market" and seen as "hazardous tests."
Past Controversy and Ongoing Disputes
It also references a past television report about HIV drug testing on children, which was subsequently the subject of a correction by the network for unbalanced reporting.
In recent weeks, Kennedy called on the Centers for Disease Control to alter its longstanding position that there is no link between immunizations and autism. This claim is echoed in the film, despite a new report from the WHO reiterating no connection has been found.
An Earlier Statement of Advocacy
Differing from the documentary's tone, Neeson has formerly expressed firm endorsement for vaccines in his role as a Unicef global ambassador.
Previously, he called vaccines as "a remarkable human success story," stating that "The conversation about vaccines in lately has lost sight of how much positive impact they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest human endeavors in history."
The documentary concludes with Neeson's voice saying, "This marks not the finish of our journey. It is the beginning of a fresh chapter."
